BI: Household Consumption Growth Still Not Strong

Jakarta - Bank Indonesia ( BI ) recorded in the Consumer Survey as of October , 2013, that consumption growthhouseholds are still not strong .
Indications are reflected in the annual growth of the Consumer Confidence Index ( CCI ) in October 2013 which was negative 8.4 percent . Nonetheless , on a monthly basis has recorded positive growth .
"There is strong consumer confidence mainly influenced CCI today are still pessimistic about the durable goods consumption and income , " writes BI like in Jakarta , Tuesday ( 5/11 ) .
Nevertheless , consumer confidence surveys indicate improvement of the economic conditions in the next six months . It happens both on the income , job availability , as well as business activities .
The survey also indicated reduced upward pressure on the price of the next three months . BI saw , pressure drop price increase next three months ( until January 2014 ) is expected to occur mainly in some specific sectors . For example , transportation, communications , financial services , as well as processed foods , beverages ,cigarettes , and tobacco .
" However , surveys indicate rising price pressures will increase in the next six months ( April 2014 ) , in line with the predicted increase in demand , " said BI .
