25 -year -old young woman was apparently never involved in criminal cases earlier . Of tracking local media , Irish Independent and the Sydney Morning Herald reported on Thursday ( 07/11/2013 ) , mentioned that Azzopardi fraud case ever prosecuted in Australia for trying to get social welfare benefits illegally.
A man who claimed not to have a family relationship or kinship with Azzopardi , Dublin contacted police and told that the company was chasing the woman.
When found to local authorities on Oct. 10 , many suspect that Azzopardi is a victim of human trafficking . Initially , he suspected were aged 14-15 years and is a citizen of Europe . Azzopardi mentioned having relatives who live in the area of Tipperary , Ireland , and he lived there for the last 3 weeks .
But the results of the investigation of the local authorities and also of his passport , found that women were Australian nationals . Result of communication between Australia and Ireland officials indicated that Azzopardi had a previous history of psychiatric illness . Now , Azzopardi was in the care of the Health Service Executive Ireland .
Meanwhile , police continue to communicate intense Ireland with relevant Australian authorities Azzopardi . It's possible to extradite him , but everything is still to be considered .
" We continued to keep in close communication with the Australian Police and the Health Service Executive ( HSE ) to resolve this case , " the police statement said Ireland .Separately , the Australian Federal Police ( AFP ) has confirmed receiving a request from the Irish authorities through Interpol . However, when asked to comment on the case of Azzopardi , AFP spokesman declined to provide further information .
" AFP , which in this case is helping the Irish authorities with his request . Because the investigation is ongoing, is not appropriate for us to comment further , " the AFP spokesman said .
