Suddenly Chris Pratt's chiseled selfie makes so much more
sense.
The "Parks and Recreation" actor, who is married
to Anna Faris, admits in a new interview that before he was famous, he had a
job as a stripper. The Minnesota-born and Washington State-raised star's
"Magic Mike" phase occurred when he was 18.
"I was always a very much naked person. I loved to
always get naked," the 34-year-old told Buzzfeed while promoting his role in the movie
"Delivery Man," for which he gained 60 pounds. "I was very free, so I thought: I
may as well get paid."
Some of those paying gigs included a bachelorette party as
well as, um, his friend’s grandmother’s birthday party.
"It was a surprise. I don't know how it got around to
them [that I was stripping], but they paid me $40," laughed Pratt, whose
paychecks are a lot bigger these days, especially with his top billing in next
year's Marvel Comics superhero flick "Guardians of the Galaxy."
"I was never like 'Magic Mike,' you know," Pratt
continued, referring to the 2012 stripper movie starring Channing Tatum, who
also 'fessed up about having a real-life
exotic dancer past. "I did go one time and audition on a stage for a
club, but I don't think I got the job. I don't think I'm a very good
dancer."
Funnyman Pratt is known for downplaying his looks and
physique. In an interview with GQ last year, he talked about "Mom"
star Faris, with whom he has a 1-year-old son, being out of his league.
"I married way out of my pay grade," he told the
magazine. "I have no idea how that happened. She's so goddamn funny and so
good. She is a legit comedy powerhouse. But I'm not going to question it too
much. I don't know what it is, man. I guess chicks dig love handles or
something."
But there were no love handles -- or any other physical
imperfections -- in July when Pratt posted a sizzling
hot selfie that he snapped at the gym while training for "Guardians of
the Galaxy." He was perfectly toned and showing off a six-pack ... and the
photo quickly went viral.
"Six months no beer. #GOTG Kinda douchey to post this
but my brother made me," he captioned the Instagram snapshot.
Pratt's brother may have "made" him post the
photo, but now we know the star is clearly not shy about taking off his shirt
and flaunting his bod.
