The gossip mongers are in overjoyous overdrive today as rumours trickle through that Anne Hathaway
is indeed a bit of a wagon. Now I've met her, she was pleasant, I
guess, but not particularly warm. I didn't, however, experience quite
what's being said about her right now; eyerolls, 'don't talk to me'
requests and more. But to be honest, we're not all that surprised; she's
never been known to be all sweetness and light, but should we expect
celebrities to fart rainbows and throw up cupcakes on a daily basis?
Well if at a party to help cancer research, then probably, yes.
Anyhoo, make of this what you will.
As per Radar Online, Miss Hathaway (now an official member of
Christopher Nolan's cool crew) had a whole rake of demands before
agreeing to attend this October cancer research charity event, and there
was no way she was showing up unless ALL staff were aware of said
requirements.
First of all, nobody should dare come near her, not for a photo, not
to say hi. A source tells In Touch, that despite doing their best to
meet her unwarranted demands, and the fact that the staff were all but
shitting themselves. Anne was still acting the maggot.
"She was so rude and acted like a b*tch to a few people she did speak to, she just sat there rolling her eyes all night."
We do get a bang of elitism off her, cloaked in an on-the-verge cry
face, a la Homeland's Carrie, that she resorts to when wanting to seem
oh-so-sweet while collecting an award. Her Oscar speech? Vom.
So, was this source just a bitter, over-worked event organiser? It is
plausible. Anne's reps have of course come out to squash whoever it was
that said this, explaining that:
"We never made any such requests and Anne happily interacted with the
organisers and guests at the event. The cause is very personal to her
as the [doctor] being honoured that evening saved one of her very close
friends."
The publicist for the party then chimed in (probably once she'd fired
the worker who dropped the bombshell) that it was 'a delight to have
her... Anne could not have been nicer and was absolutely lovely
throughout the evening... She gave one of the most heartfelt speeches in
the history of The Pink Party... It was extremely genuine. She was
sincere and open with tears in her eyes as she spoke about her friend.'
So, Anne Hathaway, yay or nay?
