- The Central Bureau of Statistics noted that the unemployment rate in
August 2013 has increased by 150,000 persons from 7.24 million people in
2012 to 7.39 million in August 2013.
Head
of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) said Suryamin, in August 2013,
an increasing number of Indonesian workforce of 118.05 million in August
2012 to 118.09 million people. Of
these, the number of people working in August 2013 decreased by 10,000
from 110.81 million in August 2012 to 110.8 million people.
Meanwhile, the number of unemployed in August 2013 increased to 7.39 million (6.25%) of the 7.24 million people (6.14%).
"There
is a slowdown in economic growth, so there is a slowdown of employment.
